Gone
1.
I thought I knew
what lonely was,
until the first time
I woke up
seeing your smiling face
right next to mine again.
Slowly coming to,
realizing its just a pillow in my arms.
Just an after image
from where I imprinted you
at the front of my brain.
2.
Breath in.
Face buried in the flannel
I always wear.
Searching for the last hints
of your scent.
A mixture of the air in your room.
Body wash.
Pheromones from your sweat.
All gone.
Breath out.
Let the ever filling void
that is longing
into my chest.
